I was very sad to hear about Larry's passing and my thoughts and prayers are with his family. I moved to Cedar Rapids before my Junior year of High School, played trombone in the marching band and ended up sitting 2 seats down from Larry. It can be rough moving to a new school but I remember that Larry was one of the first who became a friend. We could have lots of stories about high school adventures. I remember many many good times. One of our shared interests was skiing and so we ended up skiing together, including a great trip where Larry's family generously invited me to come with them to Colorado on their family vacation to their condo at Keystone. Once we graduated we ended up at the University of Denver and roomed together as Freshman as well as pledging the same fraternity, Sigma Chi. A book could be written about our adventures, or misadventures, in Denver. I remember lots of good times and lots of skiing. Looking at the times now it was all pretty harmless fun. Larry went on to finish his degree at Iowa and I went on to the Marine Corps. We ran into each other again a few times back at the University of Iowa while he was in Law School. Larry was a great guy, a good friend and even though we haven't spoken in a long time he will be missed.

Our deepest sympathies to Von & Darlene and all of Larry’s family. You are in our thoughts & prayers; may God provide strength & comfort to you during your time of loss.

Deepest sympathy to Larry's family and many friends! We enjoyed working with Larry for many years in the bar and amusement business.
