On Sunday afternoon, when Shirley came to church service, her gentle voice and sweet personality would be a blessing to me, especially on those days that had been stressful prior to our visit. She would say things that would make me smile and all the stress would melt away. You might say Shirley helped prepare me for the message I had prepared for the day. Thank You Father God for allowing me to experience this lady's presence during her stay at Garnett Place.

To Shirley's family, My husband and I did a church service at Garnett Place on Sunday afternoons for several years before the pandemic. Shirley would quietly come it, help with chairs, ask about our families and just be a blessing with her smile and gentleness. She touched many lives and especially ours. May you experience the peace that passes all understanding from our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

We wanted to convey our prayers & sympathy to your family on Shirley's passing. We spent so many fun times over the years with Shirley & Mel at Hawkeye football games, both trips away to Big Ten stadiums & at Kinnick. We have wonderful memories tailgating together. Mel & Don would do something silly & Shirley would TRY to keep Mel in tow. Of course that normally didn't work! :) She was a sweet gal & we will always remember her fondly.

My continuous prayers go out to Mrs. Tudor's family. I didn't know her personally but we have in common our compassion to serve as an associate to the Sisters of Mercy. I do understand the sadness that comes from the loss of a parent. To be absent from the body is to be present with our Lord Jesus Christ. Love Donna

I just wanted you to that I'm thinking of you at this sad time. Your mom & dad were the best I remember all the good times that I had hanging out at your house. If there is anything that I can do for you please let me know. i lost my mom a year ago it's still hard to believe that she is gone. Love Pam

My sympathy at the loss of this dear woman. I knew Shirley when I was working with the Mercy Associates; she was a delightful woman with a great smile, and a wonderful willingness to help wherever needed. She and her family are remembered in prayer.

I have wonderful memories of your mom& dad. I always enjoyed spending time with your family. My thoughts and prayers to everyone in the family. I know it is a difficult time but know that I am thinking of you and going down memory lane remembering all those special times our families spent together. I am sure our parents are up in heaven talking and laughing and enjoying being together once again. Hugs! Gretchen
