I’m so saddened to see the news of Ron’s passing. I met Ron while working at Riverside Casino and had the pleasure of hosting him on a trip to Pella for the tulip festival. He stopped in my office often to visit with me and shared stories of his life, travels, military life, family, jokes, and more. I considered him a friend and will miss seeing his smiling face. He was so proud of his sons and grandchildren and loved to talk about them and share photos. Ron, I’ll miss our talks but I’m glad to know that you’ve been reunited with Eva. I know you missed her deeply. Thank you for all of your words of wisdom, laughter, & friendship. Wishing you a happy Heavenly birthday with love!

It’s sad to hear that one of my uncles closest friends father has passed away. I didn’t know Ron but I do know that I care about Rod and feel sad for him having to go through this. Hope everyone in the family is managing this as well as they can and know there is support from people they do not know.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Ron! I have so many great memories of Ron, Eva, Roland, and Rodney growing up. I am sorry I am unable to be there at this time of loss, but know that my heart goes out to you and your loved ones. I remember camping in my Grandparents (Erinie and Joan Appleby) land down by the creek with you all. I remember how funny Ron was then. Love and Prayers to you all! <3

Ron was a neighbor to my daughter and son in law for many years. They shared a special bond of love and friendship. A few years ago after an extended trip to Germany to visit Roland and family he joined our family Christmas party. We all enjoyed pictures and stories from his trip. In addition he taught me a little know factoid about the wine I was drinking, lol. It was a fun night. He was a good guy and will be missed. Condolences to the family and all who loved him.

I remember Ron well from when he worked as Courier for the Marion School District. I always enjoyed his visits when he was picking up and delivering items at Vernon Middle School. He was so proud of his two sons! My sympathies go out to Ron's entire family. May memories of Ron's great spirit help during this sad time.

Ron was great man took care of me and my brother after our dad died.I never forgot about that.took us fishing.camping played uno Friday nighs .sorry for loss Rod and Roland RIP Ron with Eva now

Ron kind of adopted me and my husband the last few years. He always offered to help in any way. We loved having him come over for a meal, go out to lunch, or go with us to an outdoor show, etc. He was just a super nice guy, with a neat sense of humor. He was always making new friends. Rest in Peace Ron. We will really miss you.
