Memorial
Syriano Haddy, 95 of Cedar Rapids, Iowa passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at Mercy Hallmar in Cedar Rapids. A closed graveside service will be held at St George Cemetery. Entrusted with the arrangements is Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the St George Eastern Orthodox Church in Cedar Rapids.
Syriano was born April 15, 1924 in Port Antonio, Jamaica the daughter of Abdallah and Asma (Canaan) Sleem. She graduated from Alpha Academy in Kingston, Jamaica. Syriano was married to Mike Haddy on November 21, 1960 in Toronto, Canada. She was employed at JC Penny’s, where she worked in sales. Syriano was a member of St George Orthodox Church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Sis was very hospitable and welcomed everyone into her home with respect and unconditional love.
Syriano is survived by her son, George (Susan) Karam of Ely, IA; two grandsons, Christian (Stacy) Karam of Solon, IA; Matthew (Chenelle) Karam of North Liberty, IA; great-grandchildren, David and Charlie Karam of Solon, IA; Mason, Eva and Hudson Karam of North Liberty, IA.
Preceded in death by her parents; a son, John Haddy on July 27, 2013, her husbands Karam George Karam and Mike Haddy; four brothers; Iser, Albert, Victor, and Maurice Sleem, and a sister, Sumya Adwon.
