Matthew Ryan Eden, 38, of Robins, Iowa passed into Heaven on Wednesday, March 19, 2020, at UnityPoint St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids. He died of respiratory and cardiac failure due to sepsis and urinary infection. Per his wishes, cremation rites will be observed. A Celebration of Matt’s Life will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be directed to Craig Hospital in Denver, CO or a college fund for Joslyn.
Matt leaves behind his mom, Joy Eden; a sister, Jenny (Randy); his niece, Joslyn; grandma, Dorothy; his special companion his dog Fred, and numerous other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his dad, John.
Prior to his accident in 2004, he was involved in Boy Scouts and Order of the Arrow. Matt regularly attended Cornerstone Church.
Matt had a passion for auto racing especially NASCAR. He was a devoted Hawkeye football and NFL fan. He was an avid reader and internet poker enthusiast. He enjoyed traveling with Joy in the motorhome around the United States and chasing NASCAR. He cherished time with family and friends especially his beloved niece Joslyn.
Matt had a very strong love for his family and his family loved him so dearly!
