I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Greg at Evolution and pray for him often. Greg was a great person and I had a sudden thought to send this message. Still miss working with him. My son Patrick worked there one summer and Greg treated him so well. I’ll always be grateful. It was a gift to have known him. Eddie

Greg was my friend and I will miss him for the rest of my life.

Gayle, Mike and Grant and the rest of the Hanna and Goodale family, you have my deepest condolences. I learned of Greg's passing on my occasional view of the Kennedy HS Class of 1990. My heart sank as I remembered all the things good times we shared during out formative years. Things he taught still stick with me, I hated Elvis Presley but after hours of being forced to listen, I finally saw his point. How to make a great Old Fashioned as honed by him in his years of bartending. A perk that was great when he gave me free drinks when I was home from college. His knack for making anyone feel at ease around him and his ability to give anyone a nickname that encapsulated their personality exactly. Gone too soon but never forgotten.

Gayle, George and all who loved Greg: I’m so sorry to hear about Greg’s death. Sending love and peace and strength.

When I worked with Greg at Doc and Eddys he was always kind and funny. The loss of a child is pain beyond belief and I am sorry that you have to experience this. May memories being you through the painful days and years to come. Thinking of you all.

Mike and Gayle I am so sorry! Thoughts and prayers are with you and the family!

Had the pleasure of meeting and having interesting talks with Greg at Leaf Cigar. The UFC nights won't be the same without you Greg and I'll be sure to have a Padron for you! Deepest sympathies and condolences to the family. God bless.

My sincere condolences and prayers for the Goodale Family:May God’s Blessings be with you all,May Gregory Rest In Peace And May the forever Beautiful Memories of Gregory be Eternal

I will always remember Greg for his ability to connect with anyone, perfect strangers even, and his illuminating presence in any crowd. Greg could disarm you with his sharp and honest observations, never afraid to call me out on something he would not agree on – and then having a laugh over the silly dialogue that would follow. So many good memories of our time in Houston and when he visited us in the Netherlands. Greg became the American ‘uncle’ to our eldest, teaching her the pledge of allegiance when she was just 1 month old. It shows his great sense of humor. Our memories with Greg are very special to us - a great loss, he will be missed dearly. Our thoughts go out to his family and everyone else that loved him. Arthur Kramer and Annelies Dullaert

Dearest Gayle, Mike, Grant and nephews - As so many have said before me, there are just no words to say how sorry we are for what is probably the greatest loss of your lives. He was such a bright light for those that knew him - it's unfathomable. We are with you in your time of grief and we hope that may God grant you the peace and serenity to process this. My deepest sympathies go to Greg's family and friends. He was a good and loyal friend and I could always count on him for a laugh. My heart is deeply saddened but I know he is enjoying everlasting life. God bless you, my friend!

Gayle, Mike, Grant and family, my heart goes out to you during this difficult time. For over twenty years I called Greg my friend, really one of my best friends. We were roommates, gym partners, groomsmen, Vegas travelers, bowl game attenders, Texas transplants (I in Dallas, he in Houston), political debaters, cigar aficionados and confidents. So many fond memories and stories, from GST (Goodale Standard Time) to hearing him call my nickname that should have long since been retired ("Killer, what's up buddy") every time I answered the phone. He had an infectious smile and an endearing quality that no matter how annoyed you might get with him (say after one of our many political debates) you couldn't stay mad or ignore his call. He exhibited a level freedom that I think many envied, but only he could pull off. His life was cut too short, but he made an impression and a positive impact on many of our lives and he will be greatly missed. RIP buddy.

Gayle, Mike and Grant and family. We are heartbroken for your loss. May Greg be resting in peace and may peace come and heal your hearts. Blessings to you and your family.

To my family - there are absolutely no words to describe how we feel right now. All I can do is pray for Greg's beautiful soul and for all of you back home. With deepest sympathies and love.

Thinking of the entire Goodale family during this difficult time. May you find comfort in the good times you had together and strength to move forward. Our thoughts are with you.

Knowing that I'll never have chance to speak to see him again has been unbearable on occasion. Greg was one of my best friends. I always looked forward to and enjoyed his company and conversation. He was one of the most refreshingly forthright and sincere persons whom I've ever known. He was intelligent, compassionate, funny and I knew that I could always rely on him if I needed and in just the right way. He always knew what to say to me when I needed it. I just wish that he knew that he could rely more on me as well. I miss him very much. I'm so sorry for your loss of him. "Now cracks a noble heart. Good night, sweet prince, And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest".

"This is one of the most difficult things anyone can endure! Because words don't fill the void of what to say ! My Heart goes out to my family in Cedar Rapids. Gayle, Mike, and Grant.
