I knew Dave from 1971-1975 while attached to USS SOUTHERLAND (DD-743), he was always there for his shipmates. On our duty days we would stay up all night playing pinochle. I know that he will be missed by all that came to know him. It goes without saying that all his shipmates mourn his passing.

My sincerest condolences to the family. I met Dave through the electric utility industry. He always had a smile on his face, a positive attitude and was a pleasure to talk to. I will never forget his kindness and willingness to help me.

Mona I am so sorry for your loss so soon after the loss of your brother. I remember al the good times on Lee Street and how often you and Jackie babysat for our kids. We have been living in Florida for over 19 years now & hardly ever get back to Iowa. Kevin is the only one living in Des Moines & he has two beautiful daughters at Iowa University.

Mona and family,
Dave was a great person, a good friend, and will be greatly missed by those of us who had the good fortune of knowing him. We had great time in Ireland thanks to him and Mona.
