We are so sorry to hear about your loss. Dave was such a kind hearted guy and will be so greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Gilmore family during this difficult time. Rest In Peace Dave.

Justin, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. What an amazing man your DAD seemed to be. I know he is missed terribly. Keep him alive in your hearts and memories. Hugs and Love to all! Kim

I knew Dave from 1971-1975 while attached to USS SOUTHERLAND (DD-743), he was always there for his shipmates. On our duty days we would stay up all night playing pinochle. I know that he will be missed by all that came to know him. It goes without saying that all his shipmates mourn his passing.

So sorry for your loss. You are all in our prayers. We remember the good times with Dave on RAGBRAI. May the Lord comfort you in this time of sorrow.

My sincerest condolences to the family. I met Dave through the electric utility industry. He always had a smile on his face, a positive attitude and was a pleasure to talk to. I will never forget his kindness and willingness to help me. Rest in peace Dave!

Mona I am so sorry for your loss so soon after the loss of your brother. I remember al the good times on Lee Street and how often you and Jackie babysat for our kids. We have been living in Florida for over 19 years now & hardly ever get back to Iowa. Kevin is the only one living in Des Moines & he has two beautiful daughters at Iowa University.

Justin and Joanna, so sorry to hear about the passing of your Dad, Lucille and I are thinking of you and your family in this difficult time. Although I never meet your dad, it seems you have many of his traits and skills to love family, work hard, and have fun! I am sure he was extremely proud of you, and excited for all your successes in life.

Justin, I am so sorry for your loss. You and your family are my thoughts and prayers. Remember all the good times and laughs you had with him. Its hard but each day that passes will get easier. He is at peace.

Mona and family, Dave was a great person, a good friend, and will be greatly missed by those of us who had the good fortune of knowing him. We had great time in Ireland thanks to him and Mona. At a time like this, it's hard to find the right words of comfort. I only hope that knowing others care is of some comfort to you in your loss. May God bless the Gilmore and Shannahan families. Tom Murphy

I worked with Dave for 6 years at REC. He was a very nice and kind person to be around. Sorry that he didn't get to enjoy his much deserved retirement for a lot longer.

Dave was a great guy and even greater brother-inlaw! You were well loved Dave and I will miss you terribly. You're favorite sister-inlaw Lyn
