Thomas A. Stovie, 71, of Alburnett, died Tuesday September 18, 2018 in his home from a sudden illness. There will be a private family service. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Sally, his children; Tobi (Steven) Kramer of Toddville, Timothy (Shanda) Stovie of Urbandale, Toni (Mark) Beason of Cedar Rapids, Thomas (Tammy) Stovie, of Ankeny, and Travis (Julia) Stovie of Fairfax; his father, Raymond Stovie, his siblings; Cindy Dirksen, John Stovie, and Brad Stovie; and grandchildren; Alicia, Emily, Megan, Hannah, Lexie, Alex, Jakob, Chris, Carter, Kelsea, Tyler and Lexi. He was preceded in death by his mother, Cecilia Stovie and brother Craig.
Thomas was born February 8, 1947 in Denver, Colorado, the son of Ray and Cecilia (Weisen) Stovie. He married Sally Thiessen on August 6, 1966 in Elkader, Iowa. Thomas was retired from Quaker Oats. He enjoyed being outdoors, working in his yard, listening to the Cubs, and following the Iowa Hawkeyes.
