A soprano singer all her life, beginning with lead roles in school operettas, Janice was a member of the Sweet Adelines from 1988 to 1994 and was an active member of Unity Center of Cedar Rapids, where she sang in the choir, led the singing, and was an editor of the church newsletter for many years.

She is also survived by five grandchildren: Jack, Thomas and Katie Andreasen; and Alayna and Russell Armentrout; as well as brother-in-law Harlan Armentrout of Des Moines and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters: Connie Smith and Teddy Protsman.

Janice will be remembered as a loving, caring and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who used her musical and writing abilities, as well as other talents, to benefit her family, church and others. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and were inspired by her positive outlook on life. “Not all is good, but good comes from all.”
