James Dean Robinson Sr., 60, of Cedar Rapids, IA passed away Friday, Feb. 16, 2018, at his home. Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wed., Feb. 21 at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Visitation will be before the service at Noon. Burial will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery following service.
Jim was born on August 20, 1957 in Cedar Rapids, IA the son of Loyal and Jeanette Pope Robinson. He married Debbie Hill on June 29, 1991. Jim enjoyed being a manager at Econofoods and Hy-Vee Drug Store. Jim was very proud of his business he created where he taught people how to trade Futures, Stocks and Commodities.
In his younger years, Jim enjoyed playing basketball at Kennedy High School and working on his fathers milk business in Iowa City.
Jim loved his family most of all. On Sundays you could find him at his parent’s house surrounded by family. His family’s fondest memories revolve around Jim singing and playing his guitar. Jim’s sense of humor was contagious and his smile brought life to the room.
Jim will be greatly missed by all of the people who knew him.
Survivors include his wife, Debbie; son James; two daughters Becky and Jessie Robinson; his mother Jeanette; two brothers Jerry (Jeri), Bob (Barb), sister Debbie Sivertsen, and many nieces and nephews. Jim is reunited in heaven with his father and a brother Dwight.
