My deepest sympathy to you, Dave’s sons and other grieving relatives. It was a privilege to know your wonderful parents, Dave and Patti, fellow members attending and serving Grace Community Church. May the memories you made together sustain you grieve this passing in glory. “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.” - Psalm 116:15.

Dear Dave & Kevin - our thoughts and prayers are with you. Even though I never had the pleasure of meeting your Father, just by knowing you two guys, I knew he was a great man. May your many great memories with him bring a huge smile to your face. May peace be with you knowing that he is now in a comfortable place and with your Mom. Godd bless!

Dear Kevin, Julie and Davey, We just want to express our compassion and support for you at the passing of up your dad ( and dad in-law ). You did amazing work bringing him to Cedar Rapids and looking out for his best interests at times when he could not do that for himself. He was fortunate to have all of you in his life. You did well and honored his life properly to the end. All good wishes. Rog and T Tucson, AZ

Dear Dave and Kevin and Families, Your Dad was a great fraternity brother of mine at Ohio Wesleyan, Beta Theta Pi! He had a great sense of humor and was always encouraging any brother who was struggling over exams! Sounds like he had a great career in his chosen field of college testing, etc. Ralph Waldo Emerson once wrote: What is excellent as God lives, is permanent: Hearts shall be dust, but heart's loves remain; Hearts loves will meet thee again! God Bless You and Yours, Rev. Dr. W. Daniel Rich Beta Theta Pi Brother

Dave was truly a great leader and advocate for academic advising, and the only person I ever saw smoke a pipe, sip a glass of water, and use 2 overhead projectors – all at the same time!! - while giving a speech We also became good friends as we progressed through our mutual professional efforts.

So very sad to learn about the passing of Mr. Crockett. He was a considerate, personable man who was fun to be around. I have distinct memories of him giving a ride in his sweet green Camaro to the Glendale neighborhood boys back in the early '70s - either to Southeast Jr. High, Finkbine G.C., or over to the old Fieldhouse - with the latest Country Western tunes playing in the car's 8-track tape deck. Not only is it important to lead the length of a long life but the breadth of it, as well - which David obviously succeeded in doing. My deepest sympathy and condolences to Davey, Kevin, and the rest of the family.
