Nick was so kind, had a big heart, and was one of the sweetest people I've ever met. Some of my best memories and funnest times were with Nick. I feel so lucky to have known such a wonderful guy. I remember his laugh and his smile. He was such a beautiful person, and he will be truly missed. Please know that we are thinking of and praying for your family.

I met Nick 11 years ago via Halo online. Little did I know I would befriend someone I would know for years to come. We would stay up until the wee hours in the morning playing video games together. Call of Duty was our preferred competitive game to play together, along with some of our other buddies like Mike, Alex, Brad, Matt and Faustino. When we wanted a more laid back game to play, RockBand was our GO-TO game to wind down and have a good time together. Nick and I got along online so well together (as with the other guys previously mentioned) I invited Nick over to stay at my place for a weekend in the Chicago-land area. I had that much trust in him. He seemed to always have a smile on his face when we would chat. The man had the charisma of a man without a fear in the world. Our first time meeting was a blast and we made it a point for it not to be our last. Nick got me into Airsoft and convinced me (because of that charisma) to purchase the equipment so we could all play together, which I did and do not regret. The following year, I was getting married in Chicago and I made sure my buddies from Cedar Rapids were all invited. They did not disappoint! We had a blast in the limo after the party and Nick sat just a few feet away and I made sure all of them had a great, safe time. I know this was a long posting, but I felt that I should tell my story and how I befriended someone that I would know for 11 years. (Our birthdays were also a week apart). My deepest condolences are with the Denny family and I can't imagine what this feeling is like. I do know that we were all lucky to have had Niklas Denny in our lives at some point and his memories will forever be with us. RIP brother.

The world lost a very special person with Nick's passing. He was incredibly humble with an amazing spirit that glistened through every single day. I am a better person just for knowing and spending time with Nick. It is truly an honor to say he was my friend and I will miss him dearly. All I can offer is my deepest condolences and please know you will all be in my thoughts. My deepest sympathy Justin Hepker

Eva, Tom, Renae and Matt: May Nick's legacy be ever emblazoned in your hearts with happy thoughts, beautiful memories and the power to wake up every day knowing God has wrapped him in His loving arms. We will continue prayers and offer loving support to you, our dear friends. Joyce & Carl
