Jack was my Chief Deputy US Marshal when I entered on duty with the USMS in 1980 at Sioux City. Jack Roe was the US Marshal and together they were a very good management team. He was quite a gentleman and a good boss. My best regards to his family.

To the Mills family, Since I'm unable to attend services, I want to express my sincere sympathy for the loss of Jack. I know how much you all will miss him! My husband John, deceased, was a friend & fellow police officer, who stayed friends with Jack. Ironically, I & Helen shared a room at Mercy Hospital in 1949 having our 1st babies. God Bless you all! Mary Lou Erger

To the Mills family, I am sorry for your loss. Jack was a good man and a patriot who spent most of his adult life in the service of our country. May God bless and keep him. Mike Pizzi US Marshal (Retired)

To the Mills Family, I am so sorry for the loss of your dad. I just want to say "Hello Jack" to the gentleman I nicknamed "Pops" who said it was ok as he could call me sweetheart. I soon found out at his ninetieth birthday celebration he had a lot of sweet hearts! I am so glad to have known you, even though it was for a short time. Your memories will be in my heart forever. You loved each and everyone of your family with so much love. I know you will be joining many of your friends in your journey to God and hope that someday I will meet you again dear Pops! I love you dearly for you were a kind and sweet man. Thank you again for fate finding a way into my heart, you are missed already! Take care and may God Bless you forever and ever! Hugs to each and every one in the Mills family. Also a hug to you Odette, for you and Jack were a very special couple. Becky

Oh Jack, you are already missed by so many, including myself! You have been such a wonderful part of my family's life for over 20 years and as we've all heard a part of my Mom's life for almost 70 years when you two dated briefly. You are and always will be one of the most humble hero's we've ever known. I'm so happy for you to be with God now and to see your wife, son and grandson! I miss and love you forever! Until we meet again "see ya later Jack Bob". Linda Airy

Dear Mills Family, My sympathy on the loss of your father. I have many fond memories spent with your Mom, Dad and family. All the laughs around the juke box in the basement are some of my favorites. Your Dad had such a great sense of humor. Your family will be in my prayers. Joleen

Deepest Sympathies to the Mills Family !! Mike looked so much like your Father. I remember his accident well as the ambulance passed Holiday Station. We will all meet again.......Sincerely, Tom Hemann, Ft. Dodge, Ia

Jack was an amazing man and the head of one of the best families ever. He was always kind and had a great sense of humor!! Our sympathies go out to the Mills family. He will definitely be missed!!!

There is so much to say about this man and I am so glad to have known him. He was my uncle Jack. I am going to write from that perspective. When one visited him he made you feel so special and welcome. He greeted me with a kiss and said I was his favorite niece. At his eighty ninth birthday party we found out the truth. He asked everyone to stand and introduce them self and say a bit about themselves. It turned out everyone stood and introduced themselves as his favorite niece, his favorite nephew, his favorite grand son and so on. We all had a good laugh. He was a public servant and as such aided a lot of people. Many folks wrote letters of thanks over the years for what he did to help them. He was so amazed by the fact that these individuals would take the time to write lovely letters for merely doing his job. He was humbled and prized these letters keeping them in a file in his bedroom. He adored his family and his friends. I will miss his grand style and love which gave so easily. All my memories of uncle Jack are happy and who could ask for more. He is in Gods loving hands now. I will always love you uncle Jack.

To the entire Mills family my heart and prayers are with you all. Jack coming into my mother's life was one of the best things that has happened to me! I loved Jack and will miss him more than words can say! I know that Jack Bob is resting in peace now and I am grateful for that.
