Mrs. Hood, I met Mr. Hood many years ago, but was privileged to become better acquainted with him while working on various community programs. He was always so kind, and had such wonderful insight and a great sense of humor. He was truly a great mentor and community builder.

How we miss Mr hood we talked just about every day he was a great mentor great Christian education teacher we are sorry for the loss of our dear friend RIP

Enjoyed many of conversation with Mr. Hood. I will really miss his witty banter. RIP

I worked with Bill with the Master Teacher Program (cooperating with Iowa State University Extension) at Harambee House. After that program ended, I would think about Bill and wonder how he was doing. He was a team player but a leader when needed. My thoughts are with the family.

I worked with Bill at Mount Mercy and really respected him for his advocacy of students. I am so sorry to hear of his passing.

Dear Mrs. Hood- I was so sad to read of Bill's passing. I first met your husband when I was a high school volunteer at Jane Boyd Community House in the late 1960s. I subsequently had the privilege to serve with him on multiple community initiatives and projects. In addition to everything he gave our community as a leader and mentor, I will always remember Bill's kindness, humor, great love of music and varied interests (including collecting fountain pens). My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Gwen and Sheila, I'm so very saddened by your loss. I will miss Bill's smile and his hearty laugh. I'll miss his generous heart and caring demeanor and most of all, I will miss one of the best men I ever met.

Mrs. Hood- George and I were saddened to hear the news and we offer our deepest condolences on the loss of your husband. He was a great man and his passing leaves a void in the community.

The man that taught me how to have a relationship with Jesus, not just to know him. You will be ever missed in my family's life. "Semper Fi" Revelation 14:13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them. Well done good and faithful servant. Love you! Chris

With a heavy heart I say goodbye to my friend, William Hood Jr.

Gwen, sorry for your loss. Grant Carter - Mercy Medical Center

Gwen, my condolences for your loss and peace be with you and your family. Bill was an outstanding mentor for me who taught me how to be a kind, humble, and caring leader. I will be forever grateful for the skills he taught me. God Bless!

Sheila, I' m sending prayers and condolences from the Corley's on the loss of your Father, my brother, William Hood, Jr. The Great Creator having been pleased to remove our brother from this transitory existence, and to weaken the chain by which we are linked one to another, may his crossing remind us of our own and incline us who survive him to be more strong!

The Cedar Rapids community has lost a great man. Bill cared about our children and gave so much to help kids succeed. He was and will continue to be a great role model for kids and adults on how to build our future leaders.
