Sarah Jane Riley, 67, of Cedar Rapids died Monday February 13, 2017 at her home. Funeral Mass: 10:30 AM on Saturday at St. Matthew Catholic Church. Rev. Steve Garner will officiate. Entombment in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Friday with a vigil service at 5:00 PM. There will also be a visitation at the church after 9:30 AM on Saturday.
Survivors include two sons, Michael (Wendy) of Ames; Jason, and a daughter Heather both of Cedar Rapids; her mother Delphine Blunt of Gilbertville; four sisters Peg, LuAnne, Joan and Patti; three brothers Dick, Dennis and John. She is also survived by four grandchildren. Sarah was preceded in death by her husband, father and a brother James.
Sarah was born on April 18, 1949 in Waterloo the daughter of James and Delphine Meisch Blunt. She married Thomas W. Riley on September 28, 1974 in Cedar Rapids. Tom passed away in 1997.
Sarah worked in food service for ARAMARK at Mt. Mercy University for 17 years. She was a faithful member of St. Matthew Catholic Church. Sarah was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
