I played in the New Horizons Band (bass drum) several years ago and always enjoyed Dave's welcoming smile and friendliness to every member as we met for practice every Tuesday morning. I was so sorry to learn of his passing. May our Lord grant you comfort and peace at this sad time. Joyce (and Harold) Hutchins

I was one of the original members of the New Horizons Band with Dave. My sincere condolences to the family.

I have many good memories from knowing Dave when i worked at LeFebure. We would play golf after work, weren't at the Arnie Palmer level of playing, but we enjoyed our games. Dave took his golf more seriously...I don't remember how many pipe stems he chewed through. Rest In Peace, Dave.

Olive, Dave, and Carolyn - we are so sorry to read of Dave's death. The twinkle in his eye seemed ever present and we enjoyed all of our time with him, going way back to our days in Mariners together. Our deepest sympathy to you all.

My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. David was a great man and I enjoyed working with him and knowing him at the History Center. My condolences to his wife Olive, who I know at Coe and his children.

So many sweet memories of my fun, energetic, comical, singing Uncle Dave. Memorial Day gatherings in Vinton with the Crews, 4th of July gatherings in Rolfe with Uncle Dave, Uncle Bill, Grandpa Bob, David, Bill & my Dad setting off fireworks. Nana's 90th birthday party in the Amana Colonies :-), and so many other special times with the Crews. Uncle Dave & Aunt Olive & their family have always held such a special place in my heart & in the hearts of my family. They were there for so many special events when my brother & I were growing up and were/are "the fun family!" :-) Love, love & more love to David & Carolyn, Cat & Brian, Barb & Dick, John & Eric.

My deepest sympathy to Olive and Dave's family. I knew Dave from our exercising at the Coe Tennis Center. Dave was always a kind and cheerful man to everyone he met at the Coe Tennis Center. He will be greatly missed by all of the friends he had there. I'm sure that everyone he knew at Coe would echo my sentiments.
