Gerald Ray Tenney, 73, of Cedar Rapids, arrived at the gates of Heaven,Thursday, December 7, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am Monday, December 11, 2017 at Stonebridge Church in Cedar Rapids with visitation one hour prior to service. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery at 2:00 pm following the service.
Gerald was born October 26, 1944, the son of Robert and Gretchen (Hubbard) Tenney, in Oak Park, Illinois. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam conflict. On October 18, 1974, Gerald was married to Linda Diane Binley-Mere in Cedar Rapids. He was employed at LeFebure until its closing, then with J E Adams Industries until his retirement.
Gerald had a great love for camping, motorcycling, and his Harleys. He co-coached his daughters on their Cedar Rapids/Marion Metros softball team. He loved spending time with his family and will be greatly missed by all those that knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife, Linda; sons, Trent and Cory, daughters, Katie (Mike) and Bobbie; granddaughters, Lexi, Tennley, Mikala; twin brother, Harold (Nancy); and daughter-in-law, Beth.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Robert Jr.
