I am sad to hear of Eds passing. I was so very fortunate to have had an opportunity to meet Ed, Carol, Max Allen Collins and Barbara Collins at Mystery Cat Books in Cedar Rapids a few years ago. It was a day I'll never forget. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Ed you will be missed. Always on our minds, Forever in our heart.

This is a voice from Eddy Jo past. One of my best friends from school at ST. Pats. My prayers & thoughts to his wife carol. mother Bernadine, Brother Danny ,sister Julie & the rest of the family. Linda Shaw

Carol, as you know, Fred and I met Ed because both guys had multiple myeloma and both had treatment at Mayo. Fred died three years ago at age 77. My sister died this year of multiple myeloma, also at age 77. I see that Ed made it to age 74. I hope you learned, as we did, that hospice is a great invention. Please accept my sincere condolences to you and Ed's whole family. In his honor our Martha Marquis book club is reading "any book by Ed Gorman" for our next meeting.

I am so sorry to hear of Ed's passing. I never met him but we corresponded a few times. He gave me a wonderful review of my work, a quote I cherish and use. I kept checking his blog for him to return, then finally goggled him and saw that he had passed. My sympathy to his family. He was such a kind man, I'm sure you feel his loss terribly.

To Carol, Bernadine and all of Ed's family, our deepest sympathy. After growing up only knowing Eddie Joe as one of mom's cousins, it was such a pleasure to have the chance to meet him as an adult and hear him speak about his writing. Those great stories will live on as his legacy. Mark and Chris (Fitzpatrick) Milner

Carol Gorman and Family: My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time of such a great loss. I've known Ed since our high school days, I remember him always having a book in his hand. Whenever he would send me a copy of one of his books there was always a wonderful personal note written inside. Ed was not only a great author but I've always considered him a good friend. Ed will always live on in his writings and in our hearts. God Bless.

My prayers and most sincere condolences go out to Carol Gorman and the Family and Friends of Ed Gorman. May God bless you all and grant you His loving strength, peace and mercy at this time of loss.... I first met Ed in 1976 when he was at 3 Arts Advertising. He had seen my work at, the then CRCT(now TCR), and asked me if I'd be interested in modeling for French's Commercial Photography in an ad for LeFebure. It was my first job as a model and kicked off my career in modeling and advertising. Over the years we had tried to keep in touch but time and life interfered and we lost contact somewhat. He was a good man and a magnificent author. To say that he will be missed is an understatement... In Ed's honor and to offer some small solace for Carol and Ed's Family and Friends, I offer the following verse. I hope that it helps even a little.... THE STRONGEST MAN...(By Michael M. Kelly Sr.) There never was a man so strong, That the earth trembled as he walked about, There never was a man so strong, That the mountains shook when he would shout, There never was a man so strong, That the oceans would overflow if he wept, But there was a man so strong, That all that knew him will not forget.
