Tracy Weitzel Fabiano passed away peacefully at 9:34 Friday morning, February 27th, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. During her 7 month battle with a Glioblastoma brain tumor, she was constantly cared for physically and emotionally by her dedicated family and loyal friends.
In honor and celebration of her life, funeral services will be held at 10:30am Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at the Cathedral of St. Raphael in Dubuque, IA. Friends may visit on Monday, March 2, 2015, from 4:00-8:00pm at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1350 Lyndhurst Dr. Hiawatha, IA. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Dubuque, IA.
Tracy was born on July 4, 1962, in Dubuque, Iowa, daughter of George and Donna (Herbst) Weitzel. She graduated from Wahlert Catholic High School in 1980 and and Clarke College in 1984. Tracy married Dr. Daniel C. Fabiano on December 5, 1992 at the Cathedral of St. Raphael in Dubuque, IA.
As a mother of four, and an acting support to many others, her acceptance of life and dedication to humanity was virtue to be admired. Tracy was involved in numerous organizations for the betterment of the community. Tracy's generosity was a cornerstone of her values and reaches far beyond her physical life. From small acts of kindness, to large openings of the heart, the importance of each person she met was greatly felt. Her sparkling blue eyes and contagious humor were at the core of who she was. The warmth of her actions will be the legacy of her life and will extend far beyond her years.
Tracy is survived by her husband Dr. Daniel Fabiano, twins Joseph and Anna, William, and John Fabiano all of Cedar Rapids, IA. Her parents George and Donna Weitzel of Dubuque, IA. Brother Tim (Diane) Weitzel and their children Bradley (Meaghan) Weitzel, of Dubuque, IA and Erica Weitzel, of Los Angeles, CA. Her sister Tammy (Dr. Mark) Moore and their children Connor of Brooklyn, NY, Matthew, Jon, and Ellen all of Dubuque, IA. A great niece Mia and great nephew William of Dubuque, IA.
In addition she is survived by her mother and father in-law Joyce and Leonard Fabiano of Cape May, NJ. Brother in-law Leonard (Patricia) Fabiano Jr. and their children Lauren and Tyler of Malvern, PA. Sister in-law Carla (Mike) Morrone and their children Caitlyn and Mike of Berwyn, PA. Brother in-law Paul (Karen) and their children Sophia, Olivia, and Jonathan of Macungie, PA.
Memorials may be given to Clarke University in honor of Tracy Weitzel Fabiano. Sincere gratitude to all of Tracy's medical team, loving caretakers, large circle of support, and special thank you to Matthew Moore.
