My prayers are with you. I know it is late to signing the guest book but I was not able to attend the services. I attended Jefferson and had Mona in some of my classes. We would clown a lot. I am so very sorry for your loss, my heart goes out to all of you especially Darius and Draven, they are my son Dakotas best friends and when he heard of her passing he called me, I met Mona awhile back and she was so happy to get her new home and have her boys come live with her. I lived next door to Mona on C Street SW. She truly was loved deeply by her family. Mona was blessed to have such a family. She loved her kids. I remember a few different times when she went above and beyond for them. Mona was very clever. She told me once that her sister Tricia was her other mother. She wound up moving out before me. I saw her a few times in passing but we were both busy, and in the middle of something else. Last time we saw each other, and kind of gave a nod/smile but didn't have time to speak. I wished I had taken the time to say her name, and get her attention that last time. It is strange because I have been thinking about her these last two weeks. I was reading the Gazette tonight, and discovered that Mona passed away. I literally just found out. I'm sorry I didn't read the paper earlier. May you rest in peace Mona. You have your mom again...and all to yourself ;0. You're still very beautiful. You will be missed.
