I lived next door to Mona on C Street SW. She truly was loved deeply by her family. Mona was blessed to have such a family. She loved her kids. I remember a few different times when she went above and beyond for them. Mona was very clever. She told me once that her sister Tricia was her other mother. She wound up moving out before me. I saw her a few times in passing but we were both busy, and in the middle of something else. Last time we saw each other, and kind of gave a nod/smile but didn't have time to speak. I wished I had taken the time to say her name, and get her attention that last time. It is strange because I have been thinking about her these last two weeks. I was reading the Gazette tonight, and discovered that Mona passed away. I literally just found out. I'm sorry I didn't read the paper earlier. May you rest in peace Mona. You have your mom again...and all to yourself ;0. You're still very beautiful. You will be missed.
