Jane Ellen Beck, 75, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2026. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
Jane was born to Dale and Esther (Thomas) Strother on November 12, 1950, in Ottumwa, Iowa. She graduated from Mount Vernon High School and then went on to receive education in accounting from AIB College of Business in Des Moines.
She worked as an accountant for Highway Equipment Company for some time, but more recently worked for the City of Cedar Rapids.
Jane married Robert Beck in 1972, and they shared 54 years together. They worked in real estate together in the Cedar Rapids area. Robert and Jane also enjoyed traveling, and Jane especially loved visiting England and The Rocky Mountains.
Jane was part of the 24th Iowa Volunteer Regiment Civil War Reenactors and Civil War reenactment was a hobby she thoroughly enjoyed and participated in for many years.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Beck; her brothers, Jon (Beverly) Strother, Jack Strother, and Jim (Lana) Strother; and her sister, Judy (Gary) Petersen. She is also survived by her nieces, nephews, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Esther Strother.
