Nancy Lee Schultz, 89, died on Wednesday, July 29 2026, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City, IA.

Survivors include her two daughters, Kim (Rob) Ready of New Glarus, WI and Kris (Tom) Heyenga of Cedar Falls, IA; granddaughter Karly Ready and grandson Ty Ready; niece Barb Silk, Farmington, MN and nephew Mark Allen, Aiken, MN. Great nieces Ashley, Justine, Kelsie, Elise and great nephew Brad, along with many great great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bill, her parents, brother Richard and sister Betty.

Nancy was born on December 9, 1936 in Cedar Falls, IA to Myron & Maude Allen. She attended grade school in Minneapolis, MN. She moved to Strawberry Point, IA in the 8th grade. In high school she was active in basketball, band (clarinet), glee club, mixed chorus and was on the honor roll. She was head majorette her senior year and graduated as co-valedictorian of her class. She returned to Minneapolis where she became a certified Medical Technician at the Northwest Institute of Medical Technology. She then worked several years at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids with Dr’s Lehr, Aschoff and Lake.

She was joined in marriage to Bill Schultz on April 20, 1963. Bill died in 2002.

Nancy enjoyed being a mom – helping with Bluebirds, Campfire girls and the PTA. She enjoyed sewing for her girls and herself, collecting recipes, doing crafts and making cards on the computer for her friends and family. She enjoyed watching TV and doing genealogy in her spare time. She was handy with tools and took great pride in making repairs around her home.

Memorials may be made to Lovely Lane United Methodist Church, Cedar Rapids, IA of which she was a 60-year member.

Per Nancy’s wishes there will be no formal service or visitation. A private graveside service will be held.
