Bonnie Tjaden, 80, of Anamosa, Iowa, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2026, in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by the love of her family. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. at the chapel.

Survivors include her children, Jeff and family of Anamosa, Pam (Bill) Bohlken of Anamosa and Michelle (Tom) Ellyson of Martelle. She was a proud grandmother to Chase Bohlken (Laurissa Saunders) of Anamosa, Madison (Bryce) Sinn of Dubuque, and step-grandmother to Luke (Ticey) Ellyson of Martelle, with their children, Camryn, Brooke and Stratton.  She is also survived by her brother, Dick Tipton of Moline, IL; her sister, Mary Davis of Bondurant, sister-in-law Phyllis (Gary) Teymer of Anamosa and brother-in-law Duane Tjaden; as well as several beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Larry Tjaden, siblings Dan Tipton, Patricia Leonard, sisters-in-law Peg Tipton, Mary Tipton, mother-in-law Maxine (Bob) Stickley, brother-in-law Robert Tjaden and her beloved fur babies, Snoopy, Keisha, Sadie and Maggie.

Bonnie was born on August 9, 1945, in Moline, Illinois, to Daniel O. and Gertrude (Budelier) Tipton. On October 27, 1962, she married Larry Tjaden at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Anamosa.

Bonnie’s greatest joy in life was her family. She will be remembered for her generous heart, selfless spirit, unwavering kindness, and strong will. 

Though she will be deeply missed, Bonnie’s love and example will remain with her family forever, serving as a lasting reminder that a life well lived is measured not by years alone, but by the love shared with others.
