Electricity was added to the home in 1949. Before that, they used coal and corn cobs in the stove to heat the home. Glenda drove her mom’s buggy with her light brown pony, Kate, to school each day.

Glenda worked at Denbeste Drug Store in Mitchell, South Dakota for a year.  On June 29, 1958, she married Reuben A. Kluth; shortly after they moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Together, they bought their new house in September 1960.  Glenda enjoyed bowling, playing Duplicate Bridge and other card games, gardening, and cooking. She was always willing to try a new recipe. Later, she liked watching her grandchildren and volunteering at Truman Elementary. She volunteered at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church cleaning the alter and checking hymnals.
