I am so sorry to hear about Jim. It’s been years but I have great fondness and hilarious memories of time together. Always an incredibly genuine person. My thoughts are with Matt and the rest of the family. A sincerely unique personality that won’t be possible to replace. ❤️

I'm so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. I, too, have fond memories of Jim. Shawn Davis's swimming memories brought back a lot! The Matias butterfly stroke! We spent a lot of time at Bever Park and pool! I have not seen him since high school, but would have thanked him for his service. Condolences to the entire family.

Dear Matt, Mike & Family
I am writing to share my deepest condolences regarding the passing of Jim.
In the summer of 1975, my family moved to Bever Ave. As an 11-year-old, I felt completely lost until a neighbor introduced me to the Matias twins. That introduction sparked an epic era of youthful adventures and neighborhood friendships growing up in the '70s.
Some of my fondest memories of Jim and his brother include:
- The Bever Park Swim & Dive Teams and the shock of 8 AM cold water.
- The pool pass gang and the traditional end-of-summer BA run off the high dive.
- Navigating girls and "cooties."
- Swimming for the McKinley Bears, where the twins were incredibly fast at the butterfly stroke.
- 4x4 mudding in their IH Scout.
- Hunting pheasants and jump-shooting ducks.
- Snowballs: fights, hitting ‘targets’ and street blockades.
- Building potato guns and playing dodgeball with flaming tennis balls.
- Trying to eat a raw egg like Rocky.
- Learning the hard way to unplug the toaster before using a knife.
- Playing Pong on the TV, listening to Cheap Trick, and eating Paul Revere calzones.
Jim will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
With sympathy,
Shawn Davis

Matt and Family my heart goes out to you guys. Bisconi was a great friend. I was honored to have met him at the Corner Pocket. Where he held down his stool and his pool game. Although he didnt play a lot. He could pick up that pool cue and give most a run for their money. Biscuit was also hilarious, kind and loyal. His laugh was all belly and 100% real. I was lucky enough to see Biscuit again after many years, at Mjs in Center Point. It made me happy to see he was in great spirits and looking forward to retirement. I am sad that he didnt get to enjoy it as long as he should have been able. I will miss Bisconi, as will a lot of the pool world. He was a great guy!
