To Mrs. Becker, Chris, Todd, & Kim,
The entire Hidder family passes on our condolence to you all.
We are sorry to hear of the passing of Dick. We always have fond
memories of him and the entire family on Crestview Dr.
Over the years when Eddie and I would come home we would always take a drive around Crestview and always saw one of the Corvette's in the drive way. I remember the classice red and while one ( I want to say a '58) and the later on the brown one (not sure of the year).
Prayers to you all as his memory is close to your hearts.
Joey Hidder and the Hidder Family!

My deepest sympathy to Karen and Family. I first met Dick in April 1981 when I was hired as a seasonal employee at IIG&E and was assigned to be his helper. I ended up getting on permanent at IIG&E and so I knew Dick from then until I was "merged out" in the 1995 merger between IIG&E and Mid-American Energy. I fondly remember one time when Dick invited me over to his gunsmith shop where I had a very educational and fun time visiting with Dick. He was always one of my favorite coworkers. I pray that the Lord Jesus comforts you all, now and always. Amen.

I first met Dick at the Cedar Rapids Area Practical Shooters booth at Hawkeye Downs in 1990. I was interested in practical shooting but had absolutely no grasp of how amazing it was. Dick listened to my uninformed blathering, gave me a couple targets, paperwork and from then on I was under his and Karen’s wings.
In return for his friendship I discovered the greatest people I ever met. Many club, area and National matches all with him on my shoulder. Many a Friday night spent in his shop till 2 or so in the morning talking about everything from shooting to UFO’s.
A father figure, an uncle, a big brother he made an indelible impact on my life.
The one thing that will stay with me forever is when my wife Susan and I handed him our youngest newborn daughter. The light from his face will shine forever in my heart.
Love you Dick and Thank you!

I’m sorry for your loss. Dick was a wealth of knowledge and was instrumental in helping so many people enjoy the shooting sports.
He will always be a local legend.
His love for his family and friends was clear to me and so many others.
You are in my heart and my prayers.
