My friend, I will never forget the good times we had. You and Dennis were my very best friends. Times have moved us apart , but you where always in my heart.

I am so sorry to hear of uncle Gary's passing i have so many fond memories growing up i wouldn't know where to start Rest in peace uncle Gar.

Mark and I had the privilege of working with Gary at Mercy Medical Center. He was always cracking jokes and a pleasure to work with. I am sure he will be missed by many. Our condolences to the family. --- Mark & Jo Ellen Cook

I didn't know Gary very well or very long, but the few times I was around him were memorably fun and funny--After doing a presentation on latex allergies at Mercy, when I asked if there were any questions, Gary' very seriously asked if he could have the banana I had used as part of the presentation. It cracked me up. I have to thank him and his wife for giving me information on how I could purchase my one valuable share of stock in the. Green Bay Packers. THe world was a better place with him in it, I am sure. I

I'm so sorry to of the passing of one of the best friends I ever had growing up in S E Cedar Rapids. We had many enjoyable hours in their back yard on tenth Street. He was a card back then in the 50s and remained so in later years. -- God Bless you my friend Terry Bilsland

Gary was one of a kind. Always had a smile and was quick with a wit. I don’t think I ever heard him say a bad word about anyone or anything. He was one heck of a runner too. I can’t begin to count the number of 10k’s we ran back in the 80’s. Mary Ellen, Tim & Jenny, your husband/father was a very special person.

I was one of the lucky few at Intertrade to have had the opportunity to work with Gary. Always quick with a quip and sharp as a tack when called upon. Rest in peace, my friend. You will be sorely missed by all who knew you.

My thoughts & prayers to Mary Ellen, Jenny, Tim and your families. I am honored to have known Gary for almost 4 decades. Having worked with him both at Mercy & Intertrade was a privilege. He was always a dedicated worker and could be counted on to get the job done. Of course his humor was his trademark. Gary could be counted on to find humor in just about everything. A blessing from "Father" McGlashing was a treasured occurrence. I am thankful for having know Gary. May he rest in peace.

I feel very fortunate to have worked with Gary during his time at Intertrade. Gary brought so much fun, laughter and positive energy to the office. He was an absolute riot and a great story teller with a heart of gold!! Gary would do anything for anyone. My deepest condolences to his family.

I worked with Gary at Intertrade, and he was so much fun to work with. He always made us laugh, he was always in a great mood and lifted us up, and he had such a sweet disposition. I looked forward to going to work every day because I knew it was not just going to be "work" but it was going to be a day of laughter and fun mixed in. He had such a good heart and would do anything for anyone. He was such a bright spot in my life and I am so glad that God let me know him. I will miss him.

I was lucky to work with Gary for several years. He was a wonderful coworker that made me laugh daily. He definitely was a bright spot to the work day. My condolences to his family.

Gary will be missed. Anyone who met him knew he was one of a kind. You don't replace someone like him. There are so many memories that they would be impossible to list. Here's a few - 10K runs (especially Bix), softball with the Lefebure, Dekalb Kernel and Tuner teams, bowling, hearing stories of his childhood (his story about his mishap on the Beaver Pool diving board was my favorite), his interaction with everyone at Lefebure (Big Mo, Sky Skala and other nicknames he created), the sweet corn festival (Gary - you didn't nail the landing on your somersault), and Kernel games. Crestwell Pratt did know where it's at. I can still recite his versions of various songs like Dock of the Bay, Surf City, Cool Water and anything by Slim Whitman. His interpretation of the children books starring Dick, Jane and Spot could make a statue laugh. The world won't seem as bright without Gary and his humor. I love you buddy and already miss you dearly.
