Our deepest sympathy goes to Marlene’s family. I had many great conversations with her when she stopped into the Gazette office in Marion, where Fern and Henry Hansen and Larry Tanner worked. She always had a big smile and a pleasant word to say, especially when talking about her children who were my students.

Marleen and Chuck were such a wonderful friends to my grandparents, and Marleen was close with my grandmother Sylvia. She was very sweet to our family and we will miss her dearly. What a wonderful person she was.

Marlene was a much loved classmate of my husband's. We attended luncheons and reunions with the Marion Class of '54.. She and Charles were such a delightful couple--always smiling and laughing and enjoying their friends. I've missed her since her move to Pella, but it was for the best . May God comfort you and give you peace. You had a great mom.
