Billie L. Fry, 93, of Cedar Rapids, passed away February 2, 2025. A Visitation will be held from 10-11 AM on Friday, February 14, 2025, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. The Funeral Service for Billie will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 14th at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Entombment will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Billie was born on September 25, 1931, in Urbana, Iowa, the son of Darrell A. and Ethel M. (Stevenson) Fry. He graduated from Urbana High School. Billie was united in marriage to Mary L. Miller on July 14, 1951, in Cedar Rapids. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Billie worked at Quaker Oats in various departments, retiring in 1994 after more than forty years of service. He was an avid reader and especially enjoyed “How to” books. Billie was very mechanically inclined and liked working on cars. He and Mary enjoyed traveling together. Billie was a proud resident of Cedar Rapids and was very fond of his neighborhood.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Mary in 2012; and sister, Helen Kramer.
Survivors include his son, Wayne (Maureen) Fry of Clive; grandsons, Nathan (Kimberly) Fry of Kansas City, MO and Jason Fry of Waukee; and great-grandchildren, Adeline and Charles.
