My deep condolences to his entire family. They've lost a one-of-a-kind gem! I've known Herman since the 70's through his daughter Julie. but it was only when Julie and I were young mothers in the 90s that I got to know the entire Ginsberg family, including Herman. I rarely saw him without a smile of his face. He and Phyllis were so welcoming to me and my family -- we celebrated Passover many times with the Ginsberg clan at their house and it was wonderful! Herman was a man lucky in love - his entire family loved him dearly and he had thousands of friends!

I was incredibly saddened at learning of Herman's recent passing. Such a lovely gentleman and human. I met Herman many years ago in Rotary. From the moment we met I knew I earned a new friend. Such a charming presence - it was a delight to visit him in the store, he always greeted me with a smile and would inquire about my life. Our community has lost a genuine leader whom I will remember will great fondness.

Upon the news of Herman's passing, I reflected on the time I came into the store and asked about him. He was sitting in the back of the store, so knowing that the Ginsbergs were family friends for many years (he and my late father were the same age) I went to reintroduce myself. To my amazement, he knew my name and asked about my family. Amazing.

To Steve and family, we were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of our dear Herman. We always knew that he was a great business man, but he was also a loving and helpful "servant" to the people. He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed

It has been my privilege to know Herman and his family for many years. He was friendly and knew how to be a friend. He loved what he did, and was good at it. He helped me many times. As a historical icon, he leaves a legacy of accomplishment to his family and the total Cedar Rapids Community. HIs reach was extensive. In Storm Lake for a meeting I met a man who asked me if I knew Herman. He had purchased his wedding rings from him. The next time I met Herman, he remembered him and the rings they bought. He was well respected and we can celebrate his life knowing it was well lived. William C. Jacobson, friend and customer.

Mr. Ginsberg was a gentleman, a leader, an icon, and a proud grandpa. I never had an interaction with him that wasn't charming. My condolences to his wonderful family in this sad time.

To Steve and the Ginsberg family, Sorry to hear of Herman’s passing and sending love and light.

Mr. Ginsberg always had a smile 😃 on his face whenever we would visit them at their store. He loved looking at my rings 💍 and shining ✨️ them up for me. I enjoyed having dinner 🍽 with them pre-Covid. Sending condolences to the family.

Herman's father and my father were friends .His father always wanted to start a business with a wholesale store like Cosco so There could keep their boys busy. Steve and my 3 boys have been friends most of their lives. Herman was always my jeweler. He will be sorely missed. Jim Flynn
