Sandra Kay Bressler, 83, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday September 9, 2024. Services: 3:00 p.m. Wednesday September 18, 2024 at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Sandy was born April 15th 1941 to Leslie and Geraldean Lange of Cedar Rapids Iowa.
Sandy is survived by her husband of 61 years, Allen K. Bressler. Sandy and Allen were married on June 21st 1963. And raised two wonderful boys. Troy Allen Bressler, wife Christal of Marion, IA; Justin Allen Bressler, wife Trisha of Cedar Rapids, IA; Five wonderful grandchildren: Anaka, Silva, Jaelyn, Xander, and Everleigh. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Geraldean and sister Betty Lowe.
Sandy loved all things. Traveling to all states, only missing North Dakota! Sandy loved camping, trout fishing, cooking, sewing, reading, talking with people, and just having a great time with friends and family.
After Sandy graduated from Washington High School, she started working at SunMart, in Town and Country Shopping Center, as a cashier. This is where Allen and Sandy met. Throughout Sandy’s career, she worked at Collins’ Radio, Cedar Rapids Schools as an associate Teacher in Behavior Focus programs Taft, Franklin and McKinley middle schools, before returning to Rockwell Collins where she retired in 2007.
Sandy and Allen spent their retirement years enjoying trout fishing, camping at Deer Ridge Camp Ground, attending grandchildren’s activities, birthdays and holidays.
The family would like to thank Bickford of Marion and Hospice of Mercy for their care of Sandy over the last few months.
