Alice J. Handshew, 93, a resident of the Hiawatha Care Center, passed away October 1, 2024, at the care center. Private interment will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Alice was born on December 5, 1930, in West Branch, Iowa, the daughter of Lee and Astrid (Sorensen) Handshew. She worked as a machinist and assembler at Kwik-Way until her retirement. Alice was a strong, independent woman. She was also very generous and could be described as a people person. Alice enjoyed going out to eat with her friends and spending holidays and special occasions with them too. She liked being outdoors, especially watching the birds. Traveling was another activity that Alice enjoyed.
Alice has no immediate survivors.
Preceding her in death were her parents; one sister; and one brother.
