Gerald Duane Sjullie, 87, of Cedar Rapids passed away, January 24, 2024. Private Family Graveside Services will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Gerald was born on April 16, 1936, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Milton G. and Rita (Krall) Sjullie. He graduated from Calmar High School. In high school, he played baseball, throwing several “no hitters.” On April 22, 1957, he was united in marriage to Arlene Decker in Cresco, IA. Gerald worked as a supervisor at Rockwell Collins from 1955 until his retirement in 1995. He was a lifelong fan of the Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeyes. For many years he was an avid sportsman enjoying hunting and fishing. Gerald was a member of First Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-six years Arlene of Cedar Rapids, son Gregory (Adriana) of Elmhurst, IL, four grandchildren Kristi (Alex) Sjullie-Pick, David (Claudia) Sjullie Jr., Alexander Sjullie, and Marcus Sjullie, three great-grandchildren Allie, Cassandra, and Dalina, sister Audrey Hyke of Cresco, and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents, son David, and twin sisters in infancy.
