I worked with Mary Lou at Turner Microphone. She was a machine operator and Union Steward back then. I was the shop manager so we worked together very often. It didn't take me long to realize that the facade of the tough union rep gave way to a great sense of humor and a heart of gold. I also worked with her at Norand where she furthered her machinist skills. She was always a good worker and maintained that great sense of humor. The last time I remember seeing her was at the Mercy ER when I had a cardiac emergency and she was volunteering there. She was so kind to my wife and I.
She was the type of person that will be missed by many, including me.
May she rest in peace.
My condolences to her family.

I'm so sorry to learn of Mary Lou's passing. I remember Mary Lou from Franklin High School and many years later, she and Ed became our next door neighbors. We shared many 'talks over the fence' and neighborhood picnics. As family gathers to share memories, may you find peace knowing that she is missed by many...

Mary Lou and I were "besties" throughout our years at Franklin High School. Oh, the memories of cheering the Franklin Thunderbolts in all sports, slumber parties, playing softball, dances and walking through cemetaries. We also connected for dinner and drinks-especialy after Ed's death. She was a loving, caring and fun lady. I feel your loss and hope you can survive and find joy by sharing beautiful memories. I wish sympathy to all of you.

I knew Mary Lou when she was a volunteer at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. She and Ed were quite the team. I have fond memories of Mary Lou and I am sad to learn of her passing. She was a fun and kind woman. I am truly sorry for your families loss.
