Derenda and Tom, I am sorry to hear of the passing of your mother. I never met your mom but I now understand where your kind nature came from. You guys were alway super nice to me and I have fond memories. Prayers of support coming to you and the entire Hurn family.

Theda was the best babysitter I ever had. Her kindness and faith are inspiring. I am sorry for your loss Hurn family.

Theda was such a remarkable and loving woman. She was a big part of my children’s lives growing up and we will always remember her warmly and hold a special place in our hearts for her. We will keep Theda and your family in our prayers. God Bless.

My heart goes out to all of you in the family. Theda was a huge part of my childhood growing up days with you kids at Immanuel in the 60's & then as an adult at Northbrook. I've never heard anything but kindness from her and about her. What a wonderful Christian life example she was to me & so many of us kids as we grew up. I've always loved Theda so much! So full of joy for her now, but sad for those of us who miss her.

I got to know Pete and Theda back in the 1980s at Northbrook Baptist Church. Theda was always graceful and supportive. I enjoyed the smile on her face every Sunday. Praying for Peace for the family.

Derenda and family. Sorry to hear about Theda's death. It is very hard to lose our mothers, it leaves a big hole in our heart. One blessing you do have is remembering she lived a long healthy life. Many memories to remember. She may be gone here on earth but she still lives with you every day in your heart. She was a beautiful sweet lady. She will be missed by many. Love and blessings to everyone.

Derenda, Jared and family Sorry to hear about Theda. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Tom and Lisa We send sincere condolences on the death of your mother. Losing a parent leaves a void and know you will miss her. May love be what you remember most.” Pat and Ron Gonder

I'm so sorry to hear of Theda's passing. When I think of her, I think of that great big smile. What a wonderful and encouraging sister in Christ she was.

Dear Derenda and family of Theda Hurn, We loved Theda and she was always a very gracious and kind Christian friend to us. When we went to Community, we looked forward to seeing Theda, Pricilla and Don every Sunday in church. Theda loved church and was always faithful. She enjoyed Sunday School and was joyful in her participation. She had a ready smile and bright eyes. She was hospitable to us. After, we moved out of state in October 2016, when we returned for a visit she let us have her bedroom for the night. Her room was bright and cheerful. I remember it having a pretty yellow bedspread. She was so kind to share what she had with us. She was a precious Christian friend! Thank you Derenda, too, for selling our house in Cedar Rapids for us. You worked hard to get it sold. Theda was the one who told us about her daughter Derenda being a realtor. 😁
