Kory, I am so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. Sending thoughts and prayers to you and your family.

On behalf of the Indian Creek Nature Center staff team I share with you our sincerest condolences on Jan’s passing. We are grateful for the support she provided to the Center as an engaged board member in the mid-1980s, as well as for her financial support together with Bob for many years. We are also proud to include Bob and Jan among our lifetime members, beginning in 1992. Along with you, we celebrate her remarkable life of service to transform our community into a richer, more vibrant and better place for all. Thank you, Bob, Kory and Kim, for sharing Jan with us.

SHE IS HOME

My deepest sympathies to the entire Kazimour family on Jan’s passing. Such a wonderful, graceful lady. We were peers/friends on the Kernels Board of Directors. We usually sat next to each other at the meetings. At these meetings, there are 4-5 pieces of miniature candies at each directors seat. Jan noticed that I very rarely ate or touched mine. She asked me if she could have mine. I said “sure”. She explained she would give them to a nun at Mercy hospital where Jan spent many volunteer hours. This nun had a real sweet tooth. From that meeting forward, until she could no longer serve, the first thing I did at our meetings was give my candy to Jan. I think this is but one small example of her thoughtfulness & extremely large heart. Coincidentally, my mom was at Hallmar at the same time Jan was there. Jan will be greatly missed & I pray you all eventually find peace within your grief.

Bob and family, we have many warm memories of Jan (all of which include her with a smile on her face!). What a gracious and capable lady .... a loss to our community but an even deeper loss to all of you. Our most sincere sympathies.

Bob, Kory & Kim - SO many wonderful memories of your mom. She was an amazing lady with a heart of gold. Her imprint on you, the community and everyone she interacted with is undeniable. She lived a wonderful life - and was so proud of all of you. She could be tough and she could be tender but it always came from the heart. They don't make them like Jan anymore. Much love and hugs to you all. Elisa, Dave and all the Verhille's - both here and up there. God bless.

We were Kindergarten and early elementary classmates at Johnson school and I remember being invited to her home (The Modern Arms apartments) on 2nd Avenue, S.E. to play and I also remember how sad I was when her parents moved out of the district and I lost, I admit it, a huge part of my Little Kid life.

Bob, I was saddened to hear about the loss of your beloved Jan, someone who dedicated her life to volunteering and service of others setting an example for all of us. Jan's commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of others is truly admirable. Please accept my deepest condolences during this difficult time and as you celebrate Jan's life and contributions. Jan's legacy of selflessness and compassion will surely continue to inspire the Cedar Rapids community for generations to come. May her memory bring comfort and strength to you and all who were touched by her life of service. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Sincerely, Anne

Bob and Family…It was a privilege to know and work with Janis. Am sending my sincere condolences and prayers to your fine family………..

Jan was my friend. We served together on the Civil Service Commission, and I remember fondly being greeted by her at Mercy Hospital many times. To Bob and family, I join in celebrating her life. She was a pillar of the community, and found a way to make a difference in everything she did. Jan paid her civic rent which displayed her dedication to the development of the Cedar Rapids Community. I was always impressed with her priorities and how she revealed her heart in all she did. I, and all those who knew her are better because she was here. William C. I am deeply saddened that Jan will no longer be in our lives, but thankful for all the places she will hold in our memories. She was someone who held a special place in my heart and touched the lives of so many. She was not just a remarkable individual but also an inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Jan was an extraordinary person who embodied talent, vision, and an unwavering commitment to making the world a better place through her selfless acts of volunteerism. Her dedication to the greater good was a beacon of light that illuminated the path for those fortunate enough to follow in her footsteps. As we come to terms with this profound loss, please know that our thoughts and hearts are with you, Bob, Kim, and Kory, during this difficult time. The impact she had on her family, friends, and the community at large is immeasurable, and her absence will be felt deeply by all who knew her. Jan’s legacy of love, compassion, and service will continue to inspire us. She leaves behind a rich tapestry of memories that will forever remind us of the incredible person she was. In the days ahead, may you find solace in the cherished moments you shared with her, and may her spirit continue to guide and inspire you. Lean on each other and the strength of your community as you navigate through this grief together. With heartfelt condolences and an abundance of love, Karen and Ron Romine
