Carol L. Giovanazzi, 88, of Muscatine, IA, passed away on Saturday, March 18th at Lutheran Living. A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 24th at 2p.m at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Garden of Last Supper. 

Carol was born September 10th, 1934 in Grinnell, IA to John and Wilma (Broders) Wallis. After graduating from Grinnell High School, she went to secretarial school and began her career. During her working life she held many different positions, including a period as the proud owner of her own hair salon. Carol was united in marriage to James Giovanazzi on October 31st, 1954 in Malcom, IA. Their union was blessed with four children, John, Janet, Kassandra Jean and Joel. Throughout her life, Carol enjoyed playing cards and board games, puzzles, reading, word search books, making crafts and bingo. She loved root beer, especially root beer floats. Carol had a great Christian faith and very much enjoyed attending worship services and bible study on a regular basis at Zion Lutheran Church in Muscatine. She was committed to volunteer work and received state recognition for her service. Carol will be remembered by those who knew her as a caring person, who loved making friends and made people laugh with her witty comments. 

Those left to cherish Carol’s memory are her children: John (Ann) Giovanazzi of Grandview, IA, Janet (Ralph) Clements of Simpsonville, SC, Kassandra Jean Wones of Denver, CO, and Joel Giovanazzi of David City, NE; grandchildren: Melinda Young, Jeremiah (Allyson) Giovanazzi and Isaiah Giovanazzi, Channon (Patrick) Hanna and Matthew (Jennifer) Clements, Robert, Ryan, Emily, Hannah and Luna Giovanazzi and Elijah Jensen and Mary Clark; as well as great-grandchildren: Donovan, Kingston, Maddox, Arabella, Reagan and Joseph and her nieces and nephews. 

Carol was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James, her parents John and Wilma as well as two sisters and a brother.
