We read about your loss and want to express our sincere condolences to all of April’s family and friends. We didn’t know April but from all the comments we have read she was a wonderful person and truly loved. The words of her obituary showed how much her family loved her and how much she loved her family. In the difficult days and nights ahead may the many wonderful memories of April’s life be of comfort. Something that we have found to be of great comfort are the thoughts expressed in the Bible at John 5:28 “all those in the memorial tombs will hear his (Jesus) voice and come out “. May God Jehovah give strength and his love to each of you always.

Todd, Hannah and Nathan - My heart aches for each of you. April was the kindest person and best neighbor a person could ever have and I have no doubt she was the greatest wife/mother. My daughter and her family have always been blessed by April's love, generosity, kindness she gave them. I would have wonderful chats with her as well when I would be outside with my grandkids and she would tell me how much they loved Hawkeye. I witnessed other moments of her kindness at Halloween when handing out special treats to my grandkids. Another time in particular was when one of them was close to being born and I was summoned in the evening to watch the older siblings. April came to my rescue when I had neglected to pack some hairspray in my haste to get to their home. I know April will always be remembered for her love of life and nature to be a friend to all…even if they aren't Iowa Hawkeye fans. As my husband says… No matter how far or close you are to a person, grief always hurts. And… There is no time limit on grief. It's different for everyone and that's ok. "When a special someone passes, memories become priceless treasures." Hugs, Prayers, Love - Donna

We were so sad to hear of April's passing. She truly was a larger-than-life personality and such a caring person to those she knew. Our interactions with her were too few but she always had a beautiful smile and a caring attitude. May Todd and her children find peace in the midst of the horrible storm they find themselves in and comfort in the love of their many friends and family.

Our deepest condolences to your family in your loss. May you find some peace and comfort in the wonderful memories you have. Even in our limited interactions with April we were always greeted by her bright smile and cheerful disposition.

My deepest sympathies to Todd, Hannah and Nathan on the loss of April. Grace and peace to you as you all get through this tough time. My family will be praying for you all.

So sorry to hear of the passing of your dear wife, Todd. Hugs to your entire family and peaceful wishes to all.

I remembered when April was a little girl. She is so sweet and kind.

I’ve known April my entire life from growing up across the street from her. I am so saddened to hear of her passing. She always had a bright smile and kind word. My thoughts and prayers are with the whole family.

I was stunned to read this sad new about April. My condolences for family and all the people she loved. I met April years ago when she started painting for me. We instantly clicked and become friends. We had communicated quite often though FaceTime and phone calls over the last several years. Her smile and laughter were something I’ll never forget. I am so sad to think the world is without her. My prayers are with you.

We give our deepest condolences to the Petersen Family.

I’m so sorry for your loss. She was a beautiful person.

I was shocked and saddened to read of April’s passing. My husband and I had the pleasure of using April’s talents when we hired her to paint the rooms in our house last year. She and her partner were so much fun to work with and we looked forward to seeing them each day for the week they were at our house. By the end of the project we felt like “old friends.” While working on our project she was in the process of buying her new residence in Florida and so looking forward to spending time there. We wish her family comfort in realizing how her personality and artistic talent brought pleasure to her clients.

So sorry to hear of April’s passing. What a beautiful person she was inside and out. Prayers for peace and strength to Todd, Hannah and Nate.

My sincere condolences to the family. I was shocked and saddened to hear of April's passing.

I had the pleasure of meeting April and Todd after Hurricane Ian as we rebuilt their house. On my first meeting with April, she discussed her love for the children… she absolutely adored her family. April always had a huge smile, even in the midst of a depressing storm. That smile never wavered. April was a talented artist with amazing vision, and she was a truly gifted decorator. A few months ago, our big construction truck was on a beach street as April walked up from the beach. We urged April to hop inside for a ride home a few blocks away. Instead of jumping inside the truck, April jumped on the outside running board next to the driver, grabbed the handle bar and said “let’s go”! With wind in April’s hair and sporting a GIGANTIC smile, we drove to her house. She had an amazing spirit and zest for life that we can all only wish to have! We are praying for the entire family! I’m so sorry to hear this. April’s smile would light up a room. She was such a beautiful soul. Prayers to Todd, Hannah and Nate.
