I was able to know Gene because of the CR Board of Realtors Political Affairs Committee. He was very knowledgeable and passionate about real estate issues and protecting the public from intrusive government. At the same time he was a loving and caring individual who was involved in several community organizations which gave back to the disadvantaged in Cedar Rapids. He had a great sense of humor and was one of those rare people who put into action his Christian faith and values he believed in. Rest in Peace Gene.

Gene touched a lot of lives via DivorceCare, including mine. He was a good soul and I remember him fondly. Rest in peace Gene.

I remember Gene from our Divorce Care group at Peace Church. My daughter Ashley does too. Gene was a kind and thoughtful person. I enjoyed listening to and learning from his wisdom he shared with our group. RIP Gene.

Carole, I and the Tucker family extend our thoughts and prayers this morning of news of Gene's recent death. Gene was - a long-time neighbor - a fellow Republican - and a former colleague, and fellow REALTOR, As we share this verse from the Book of Revelation, verse 4, chapter 21, "He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." To Gene's family and friends, we remember Gene today for the many memories he provided for each of us, as we think back remembering several of them today. Rest in peace.

We are never ready to let go of loved ones but I’m sure he was proud of his children and what they have accomplished. My condolences on your loss, for those that loved him he lives on in their memories

Here’s a message for Mr. Knepper. Sir, I did not know you or your daughter, but I do know your son, Kenton. I know him well enough to know that you did a fine job raising him. I am sure the same can be said of your daughter. So sir, job well done.

Gene was such an amazing man with a heart of gold. When I thought I was at my lowest during my divorce, he helped me gain my strength and independence to move forward. I thank God for Gene and DivorceCare at Peace Church for helping me during a tough time and also for the friendships I made. Sending prayers and love to the family.
