To the Heaverlo Family: I was very sorry to hear of Dick's passing. I would see him often over the years as he made rounds or assisted with security issues at Mercy ER. He was always pleasant and helpful and had a good sense of humor. He will be missed!!

The Heaverlo Family, we were sad to read about Dicks passing. Dick always had a smile on his face. If you ever needed a hand, Dick would happily help anyone out. We are sorry we aren’t able to get back to Iowa for Dicks funeral due to work commitments. We live in South Carolina. Thoughts and prayers are with y’all. Love Marlin & Shawn 319-329-5737

Jean, we were shocked to hear about Dick. I knew him years ago at Mercy and then reconnected with him at St. Jude’s. We will miss him at Church, chatting with him and his waving to us with a big smile, as he walked to his pew for Mass. He was a great guy and will be missed by many at our Parish. May Dick enjoy the rewards of Heaven. God bless you, Jean. Love and Prayers, Pat & Kathleen ODonnell

Jean and family Expressing my deepest sympathy to all of you.

Jean, we’re so sorry to learn of Dick’s passing. The two of you have been long time friends, through our years at LaSalle and St. Jude. And our mutual collaboration at a lot of funeral luncheons. Our prayers are with you and your family. Wish we could be with you for his send off.

I worked in the Lab at Mercy and remember Dick as someone who really cared about the people he encountered while working. My condolences to his family.

Dear Jean, I wanted to send our love and Prayer for you and the family. Dick was always so funny and sweet. I wasn’t around him a lot but he will be missed. I wish we could have been there for you but Barb, Johnny, Robert and I and our family’s send our love and prayers. Love you??

I remember Richard as a security guard at Mercy Medical Center. Everyone enjoyed his company, always willing to lend an ear or a hand if needed! My condolences to the family. Heaven gained a great man here.

I remember when Dick was a Security Guard at Mercy. He would come through our OB department and share a story, a family happening or a joke with us. He was a good example of "The Mercy Touch." May he rest in Peace Bonnie Thomas
