Mary Rose Barnotes, 72, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 26, 2023, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House. Per her wishes, there will be no services.
Mary Rose was born February 22, 1951, to Stanley and Mary (Budzinski) Barnotes in Chicago, Illinois. At birth, she was three pounds, and had a lifetime of health problems. She worked in the medical fields in Chicago, Las Vegas, and Cedar Rapids. She worked in billing and coding at PCI until she retired.
She and her mother enjoyed traveling together. Going to Hawaii was one of her favorite trips. She liked going to the casino brunch while in Las Vegas and would be seen at the local casinos after she moved to Cedar Rapids. Mary Rose was an avid hockey fan. While in Las Vegas, she and her mother sponsored players for the Las Vegas Thunder. Her religion, and her devotion to The Blessed Virgin were an important part of her life as she prayed the Rosary daily.
Mary Rose had a beautiful smile and a great sense of humor. She will be missed by all that knew her.
She is survived by her brothers, Michael (Karen) Barnotes, and Thomas Barnotes; along with nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews. She is preceded in death by her parents.
