Dear Bob and Peg,
I was so saddened to hear of Brent's passing and my heart goes out to you.
Brent had a strong presence in my life during my time at the University of Iowa (2004-2010) and I regret that I had not kept in better touch with him over the past few years. He had a magnetic energy, a sharp mind, and the biggest heart. He had a most genuine embrace for all those who had the opportunity to get to know him. Truly, he was one of the best guys I've known, and I'll never have another friend quite like him.
While I regret to be unable to attend the memorial, I will be thinking of you all on that day. Of the many beautiful things I remember about Brent, his deep love and affection for you both is chief among them.
