Robert R. Jared, 85, of Marion, Iowa passed away Monday, November 21, 2022, at UnityPoint St. Luke’s Hospital. A visitation will be held from 2:00 to 3:00 PM at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories on Saturday, December 3, 2022. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 PM with burial following the service.
Robert was born April 24, 1937, to Archie and Alice Jared in Clinton, Iowa. After he completed high school, he enlisted into the U.S. Navy. He married Joyce Reed on August 28, 1985, in Decatur, Indiana. Robert worked as a mail carrier and gave over thirty years of service to the U.S. Postal Service.
Robert is survived by his sons, Michael Jared of Marion, Iowa, and Scott (Amy) Jared of Marion, Iowa. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife of thirty years, and his sister Beverly Strader.
