Phyllis June Dykstra, 81, of Marion, Iowa passed away peacefully Friday, July 8, 2022. A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories on July 14, 2022. A funeral service will follow the visitation and begin at 11:00 AM with burial following the service.
Phyllis was born on October 8, 1940, to Paul and Bernice (Sidlinger) Reid in Iowa City, Iowa. She graduated from Urbana High School in 1959. Phyllis married James Dykstra of Tipton, Iowa on June 4, 1961, in Independence, Iowa. She worked at Rockwell Collins and retired in 2001 after twenty-five years of service.
Phyllis was an avid gardener and traveler. She enjoyed her Sunday morning bible studies with her lady’s group, coffee with friends, and cherished spending time with her family.
She is survived by her son Gary Dykstra; grandchildren, Alisha Riley, Heather (Terry) Miller, Jeremy (Jessica) McCullough, Aaron Dykstra, Sara (Chris) Martins; sisters, Mary Jane Ames, Eunice Rodenberg, and Dorothy Dee.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents, brother Kenny, and her husband James.
