My sincere condolences Judy to you and your entire family. I was fortunate to meet Dick at a medical sales show in the late 80's. Dick in his very gracious, funny and forthright way took me under his wings, and from that first moment we always had a great connection. We had many great sales meetings over the years, most of which I recall with great fondness. Dick was an old school sales guy, with great people skills which made him a great success.I will miss my conversations with Dick, about the industry, and always about sports. Sad news, and again my sincere condolences to the Brown family.

Judy, Carrie, Scott and families, Ted and I have so many fond memories of Dick. Here are just a few that stand out:
*Walking with the kids on Halloween night while they were trick or treating.
*Discovering that a drill needed bits to be of any use.
*Coaching the boys together in basketball.
*Getting into character for the murder mystery dinners.
*Always interested in what our children were doing as they got older.
*His love and knowledge of the Iowa Hawkeyes football and basketball teams.
And so many more.
Dick was a good guy, definitely his own person. He will be missed in all the roles he had in his lifetime...husband, father, grandfather and a good friend.

Judy and family, Sue and I are truly sorry for your loss and are praying for all of you.
Everyone who has shared condolences ahead of me gives the exact picture of the Dick I came to know. I need not repeat their description of him again.
Every week during the summer Dick, Steve Hinkley and I would play 19 holes of golf. Very few octogenarians have that level of stamina, but Dick sure did. We only missed one week last summer because of the heat. 18 holes were played on the golf course and one at the American Legion or VFW. This hole was the most fun because we all got to lament the bad shots we had hit or celebrate small victories like a birdie or making a long put. And all three of us eagled the 19th hole every week!! Sometimes we said it was the last time we'd ever play because we had played so poorly. But we always had a great time and a lot of laughs. And we always played the next week. I'm truly going to miss that. I'm truly going to miss him. A big dent in the Three Amigos that will never be replaced.
