Marie was born in Elmhurst IL on April 14, 1931, and her parents were Charles and Minnie Librizzi.  Marie graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in 1949 in Elmhurst, IL.  She attended DePaul University while working at International Harvester and Carton Travel.  Her favorite job was working as a travel agent that allowed her to visit sites around the world.  She was always encouraging her children and grandchildren to travel.

Marie met Frank Diebold in 1959 and they were married in 1960.  They lived in Fort Thomas, Kentucky, outside of Cincinnati, OH, for 7 years before moving to Muncie, IN, for Frank’s job in 1967.  They were members at St Mary's Catholic Church in Muncie where Marie volunteered in many roles. Marie was a stay-at-home mother, before taking an administrative assistant job in the School of Physical Education at Ball State University where she worked for over 20 years.  She retired from Ball State in 1994 and enjoyed an active retirement golfing and traveling with her friends from Muncie. Marie also enjoyed tending her flower gardens around the house.  In 2006, she moved from Muncie to Cedar Rapids to live closer to 6 of her grandchildren, and their parents.  Marie made friends in Cedar Rapids playing in multiple bridge groups as well as volunteering for Prairiewoods and her church, St. Pius X. Marie moved to the Methwick Community in 2017.

Marie is survived by her children, David (Laura) Diebold of Cedar Rapids, IA, Mark (Jane Ramirez) Diebold of San Marcos, TX, Kurt (Tania) Diebold of Weston, MA, Beth (Matt) Wade of Arlington Heights, IL, Gina (Ian) Kleman of Cedar Rapids, IA, and 10 grandchildren, Meredith Diebold, Paige Diebold, Carter Diebold, Nora Diebold, Nicholas Diebold, Peter Diebold, Owen Wade, Caleb Kleman, Lewis Kleman and Katya Kleman, along many nieces and nephews.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Diebold, grandson, Myles Kleman, parents Charles and Minnie Librizzi, and brother Joseph Librizzi.

A very special thank you to all of Marie’s caregivers at the Woodlands of the Methwick Community. She felt very lucky to live in such a caring and well-tended setting.
