Judy and I will remember Brig Gen Airy’s family in our prayers. I enjoyed serving with General Airy in the Iowa Air National Guard. He was a true patriot, a wonderful leader, a great conversationalist, and a witty person.

Hello Airy Family, Dean & Jan were Dr. Bill Finn's patients and I was Dr. Finn's nurse for 25 years. We always enjoyed caring for both of them. We had many of great conversations while waiting for Dr. Finn to come in the room back then we had time to visit with our patients. They were always kind to ALL of the staff front & back. Lost track of them over the years. Only Faith, Family, Friends, Time & Good Memories will ease the pain each of you are feeling.

I was very saddened to read of Mr. Airy’s death! He was a great guy! He was a long time patient of mine. I always enjoyed seeing him and chatting with him. He told me about his Civil War re-enactments and his involvement with the Boy Scouts. I was privileged to have known him and will miss him. Dr. John Wollner

Dean was the most gracious, kind, caring, accepting, generous individual, and a great example to all he met! He was an exemplary leader and a wonderful friend. He will be greatly missed by many. He was one of a kind. Our sincere condolences to his family.

As Civil War Re-enactors we were well acquainted with Dean. He was a super person. Lots of fond memories of him with such a great sense of humor, playing harmonica, and just being around him in camp. We will all miss him. Prayers to the family.

Thinking of you all. "Steward Starr" will be deeply missed at Civil War Living Histories. He has been an amazing mentor to me for almost a decade and I will be forever grateful for his friendship. God speed, Sir.

I would like to give prayers and condolences for Dean’s family. I knew Dean for about 15 years and was a kind and genuine person. We had a lot in common both served our country, scouting and Re-enacting. We had many good conversations and he made me feel honored to be a friend. He will be missed by many. Look forward to share a campfire in the next world. My blessings to you General! Gerald

We are so sorry to hear of the death of "the General". It was a joy to visit with him over the decades at Scout Functions, as we both had our National Guard and Scout stories and experiences to share. I greatly admired his integrity and willingness to guide important discussions and decisions the right and just way. He so loved his family and was so proud of their accomplishments. Barb and I will unfortunately be out of state next week but you will be in our prayers and thoughts as you celebrate his long dedicated life to others.

So sorry to hear this. Dean was such a wonderful person. I enjoyed working with him at the 132nd when I first joined. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. God speed.

Dean was such a sweet, intelligent and funny guy. I'm so glad that I was able to care for him. He told such good stories and he loved sharing his airplanes that he used to sit and make with us. He is going to be deeply missed. My condolences to the Airy family.
