John F. Roskop, 58, of Cedar Rapids, passed away unexpectedly of health complications on Friday, September 3, 2021. John was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on March 21st, 1963 to Frank and Laurel (Holmes) Roskop. John was the youngest of five siblings.
 
There will be a visitation held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery and Funeral Home, located at 4200 First Avenue N. E. Cedar Rapids, Iowa 52402 on Wednesday, September 8th, from 4:00- 7:00 p.m.
 
 
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Spirit of Faith Family Church, located at 4070 22nd Ave. S. W. 52404 on Thursday, September 9th at 6:30 p.m.
 
John as a young man met and married Lori (Kadlec Wilfong) and they are the beloved parents of Dustin, Cory and Leah (Fletcher). Two years after Lori remarried her husband Brent, John met the love of his life Ramona (Mona) Kehlert in November 1999. John and Mona married April 22, 2000. They have two sons, Joshua and Josiah.
 
John was Awanas leader for fifteen years, as well as an adult Sunday school teacher at Squaw Creek Baptist Church.  At Spirit of Faith Family Church John served as a Youth Coordinator, Altar Care helps minister and Children’s teacher, along with many other helps ministry positions. John loved and was honored to serve in his local church under his pastors, Pastors Jay and Debbie Eberly at Spirit of Faith Family Church.  He has travelled and served on missionary trips to Indian reservations and Mexico. John graduated from Spirit of Faith Bible Training Center in May 2017. A stand out opportunity for John was to serve at a Louis Palau crusade as an altar care worker. 
 
John worked at Dental Prosthetics Services in multiple management positions for over 39 years. Eventually becoming the Director of IT and Training. He helped established the IT department as well as oriented new employees and trained them in continuing education for certification. He was a very talented teacher.
 
John loved the Lord and the opportunity to minister to others.  He loved his family and local church. He found great enjoyment in his dogs, Bible study, guns, guitars, drawing, gourmet cooking and projects with his children. He loved learning.
 
John is survived by his wife Mona (Kehlert) Roskop of Cedar Rapids, Children, Dustin (Carly) Roskop of Cedar Rapids, Leah (Nick) Fletcher of Mascoutah, Illinois, Joshua and Josiah Roskop of Cedar Rapids; Grandchildren, Colby, Keaton, Dawson, Bryson and Tenley; Siblings, Michael (Mary) Roskop, Stephen, Roskop, Theresa (Roskop) Britcher; niece Melissa (Bryan) Kirk and 3 dogs, Professor Henry Higgins, Eliza Doolittle and Colonel Louie Pickering.
 
He is preceded in death by, father, Francis (Frank) Joseph Roskop, mother Laurel Gladys (Holmes) Roskop, brother, Richard Roskop and son Cory Michael Roskop.
