I was so sorry to see of Alan's passing but knowing where he is gives much comfort. I met Alan at Veterinarian Specialties about 1971. I was right out of high school with my first job. Alan was always the most kindest, soft spoken guy, and great friend. It didn't matter the situation, he would always have a smile on his face. Knowing we were both Lutheran and from Benton County enlightened our conversation. After leaving VS, I kept in touch with Alan and Marilyn. I know that Alan loved his Lord and he loved his family, a lot! May you find comfort in HIS arms as HE holds you close to HIM as we will all meet again in our Happy Place - HEAVEN! Blessings, Jo Schumacher

I was so sorry to hear of Alan's passing. My Aunt Hazel called to tell me. I remember going to your house on Hickman in Des Moines so long ago. May the peace of the Lord be with you at the time, Mari Ellyn

I will dedicate my watching of the Iowa - Maryland Football game to you this Saturday. It is apropos; I will be thinking of all the times we shared TV’s & food, questions & answers, and yes, doubts & fears. Watching Marilyn ready the goodies & pretending interest. What Wonderful Times! I will keep Marilyn and your family and friends in my Rosary. Godspeed my dear friend, Roger Schloss

Marilyn and family, I am sorry for your loss of Al and I know that he is at peace with Jesus in heaven. He was a great man and my special friend. Sincere sympathy to you at this difficult time. God's blessings , Jim
